The Cross River State Government (CRSG) has unveiled bold steps to stimulate economic growth and strengthen the agricultural sector through key resolutions made at its 2025 inaugural Executive Council meeting held in Calabar NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.
In a landmark decision, the Council on Wednesday approved the sum of ₦3 billion as a counterpart fund to access an equivalent grant from AUDA-NEPAD. This funding will support the implementation of the Innovative Strengthening of Small-Holder Farmers Initiative, which is designed to empower farmers with modern techniques, improve crop yields, and enhance food security in the state.
In addition to agricultural development, the Council approved the acceptance of AMCON’s offer to settle outstanding debts tied to the Tinapa Business Resort. The decision marks a critical step in resolving financial challenges that have plagued Tinapa, once a flagship tourism and business destination in Nigeria. The government expressed optimism that this move would revitalize the resort and attract both local and foreign investments.
State commissioner for Information Erasmus Ekpang Ph.D stated in a press release that these resolutions underscore the administration’s commitment to leveraging partnerships and innovative solutions to drive sustainable economic development in Cross River State.
