The proprietor of Brighter Glory School, Mr Isaac Iniasek was arrested by policemen attached to Igbogbo Police Division in Ikorodu area of Lagos State for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old pupil in his school.
The 70 year old proprietor was reported to have asked the young girl to help him arrange his office and it was on this process that the suspect pounced on the victim, tore her pants and defiled her.
The victim’s aunt, who spoke to newsmen, said when the girl’s friend and her younger sister waited outside for a while, they went inside the proprietor’s office to check what was happening. According to her, they met Iniasek on top of the girl. She said: “Immediately they entered the office, the proprietor ran out of his office, while the girl was bleeding profusely from her private part.
“They raised the alarm which attracted others. When we got to the school, the girl was still in a pool of blood. “We took her to a private hospital where it was confirmed that she was defiled. They showed us the Fluid which was brought out from her private part.”
A neighbour living in the residence where the school is located at no 31 Eturenren street attested to the fact that was not the first time the proprietor was involved in such. She urged the Lagos State Government to verify schools before giving them approval.
The victim’s father described the proprietor as a disgrace.
He said: “The girl was supposed to be his granddaughter. It was after the incident that I got to know that my daughter was not the only girl that had been assaulted by the man. “I want the man prosecuted to serve as lesson to others who may want to take after him.”
The suspects sob described his fathers act as the devil's handiwork.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed Iniasek’s arrest. He said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for further investigation.
