The long awaited pursuit of German international midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, could be seen to as reality in the next few days, as Manchester United has been keenly interested in his signature long before now.
According to report emerging from Germany from daily BILD, it reports that Schweinsteiger informed the Bavarians of his desire for a new challenge, citing United manager and former Bayern boss Louis van Gaal as a key factor in attracting him to England.
The 30 year old German international who has spent his whole career with the German Champions and has over 100 caps for Germany is said to have agreed a three year deal worth £7.5m, and he is on standy to complete his medicals and other formalities.
It's also reported that just a fee remains to be agreed with Bayern Munich holding out for £15m for the Aristocratic midfielder.
Would Pep Guardiola be willing to allow the much experience talented midfielder leave Alianz Arena regardless of been found down the pecking order in midfield? It remains to be seen.
