A game that saw Jose Mourinho fueling down the touch line as though there was something at stake must really be a thing to be concerned of. Of course he wasn't pleased with the performance of his players, especially their bluntness and lack of cutting edge in front of goal, as they lost theirĀ third preseason game after recently losing against Arsenal in the community shield on Sunday.
Obviously the absence of Diego Costa was felt as Chelsea lacked cutting edge and sharpness in front of goal. Despite Falcao starting, he still looked blunt as he is still finding his form that made him one of the most feared striker in Europe.
Jose Mourinho fielded a young squad at the start of the match with the likes of Ruben Loftus Cheek, Traore playing at left back, victor Moses, Oscar and the host of others. Chelsea controlled the game in the first 20mins of play, but lost concentration, focus and momentum to keep the pressure of visiting Fiorentina. Falcao who started his first preseason friendly game performed fairly as he didn't receive more of the balls from midfield.
Second half saw Jose Mourinho made a series of change as the game became more intense, with Falcao coming off for Loic Remy. Clearly it was a friendly but Jose Mourinho's reactions didn't see it as such as he twice approached the forth official in the second half as the opponent is about making a change. Obviously Mourinho was trying to guide his reputation at home even though it was a friendly.
Fiorentina defeated Chelsea final match of the international Champions Cup competition with a goal from Gonzalo Rodriguez.
