The body language of the governor depicts great fear, the removal of Dr. Oshega Abang the Editor/Secretary Cross River State Broadcasting Corporations is one of the visible consequences of the Ayade's fear.
It is adjudged by many people in Cross River State that the Ayade's government and his policy direction seems geared towards sacrificing the interest of the state for the pursuit of his egocentric crave to remain in power despite obvious failure in piloting the affairs of the state.
Despite obvious pool of debt to the tune of more than 400 billion naira, the government of Ayade has appointed more than 300 political appointees to serve as his footsoldiers in the actualization of his dream of returning back as a governor in his second term bid.
The weight of financial burden has made Ayade to borrow more than 50 billion naira as at today to enable him meet up with the payment of an enlarged EXCO. The nauseating side of the story is the abandonment of state projects for the actualization of the governor's selfish desire.
It is worrisome that at this point the governor is yet to inaugurate the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission to organise Council Elections. This is not unconnected to his fears of losing structures in Cross River State since the state is increasingly becoming an APC state because of the ineptitude of the state government in piloting its affairs.
The tenure of the present local government chairperson and councillors is due to end by the last quarter of the year. Ordinarily, elections ought to have been completed 3 months before the expiration of their tenure. The ideal thing to have been done was for the governor to inaugurate CROSIEC now so that preliminaries before the election be concluded to catch up with time.
Rumours holds that the governor plans to form a care taker committee because of fears that he will loose grip of power if elections are allowed. The governor must learn to put the interest o the state above personal interest.
Cross River State is not for sale and we must resist the attempt of the governor to buy us.
