Information reaching Negroidhaven's news desk from a reliable source, has it that, the federal government has officially terminated the appointments of directors-general of about six agencies under the ministry of Information and Culture.
THISDAY papers corroborated and as well confirmed the report Monday alleging that about thirty five (35) heads of Nigeria's major leading Parastatals will also be relieved of their positions and duties if proper care is not taken.
According to Alhaji All Mohammed, the Minister for Information and Culture, who announced this unnegotiable sack earlier today during a meeting he held with the chief executives of the agencies.
The reasons for the retrenchment is not fully ascertained as the individuals involved seems a little nonplussed and inadvertently handicapped.
However, laying credence to a statement signed by the special adviser to the minister, Mr. Segun Adeyemi, the Minister for Information, Laid Mohammed directed by way of immediate Alacrity that the disengaged chief executives should hand over to the most senior officials in their various establishments while they are to quietly ''go home and rest''.
The Victims of this unprepared retrenchment include the Chief Executives and Directors-General of :
1) Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Sola Omole
2) Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Mr. Ladan Salihu;
3) Voice of Nigeria (VON) Mr Sam Worlu;
4) National Orientation Agency (NOA) , Mr. Mike Omeri;
5) National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mr. Emeka Mba;
6) Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Mr. Ima Niboro.
