Until recently Cross River State only had a department as far as Primary Health Care issues were concerned which was under the leadership of an indefatigable Special Adviser(S.A) in the person of Dr. Mrs. Betta Edu. However, with the intervention of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade via the hard work of many especially the erstwhile S.A, it was in a government circular released yesterday 3 March 2016 as signed by Chief Press Secretary Christian Ita upgraded to the status of an agency duly tagged: Primary Health Care Development Agency. Below are the membership of this newly constituted agency:
