The tragic incident reaching our Newsdesk have left us in a state of total dismay and nonplussed as we question the rationale cum the moral justification behind the bedeviled nature of most Men towards their spouse.
Mans inhumane treatment of his fellow man has hit the peak of it all and is gradually tending towards doomsday!
How on earth would some one set his own wife ablaze over some misunderstanding and disagreement?
Without much ado, our source has it that one Mr Keji Osunjirin pictured above is presently cooling his heels in police custody for allegedly setting his wife, Fatimo, ablaze.
The reason for such wicked action is premised upon the fact that she disobeyed him by attending a family reunion party which he had commanded her not to attend.
According to LIB, the incident occurred in Ogun state and was filed in by the police area command.
According to some neighbours who in an interview, informed that Keji, the assailant had a quarel with his wife hours after she returned from a family party.
He left the house and returned with a jerry can filled with PMS and allegedly poured the petrol on his wife and lit a match stick.
When it dawned on him that he was in error, he then quickly rushed her to the hospital, but unfortunately, the harm has been done already as the victim, his wife Fatimo had died due to the severe burns she had sustained from the incident.
During an interrogation by the Ogun state police area command, the culprit, however denied killing his wife intentionally and argued that the said petrol was meant for the fuelling of the Generator and that it caught fire on his hand.
According to him, " l unconsciously threw it at her when I noticed it had engulfed the container".
The case has been charged to court and Keji is as at press time in police custody.
The men in uniform have however not relented in the issue as they are further investigating the incident.
