Sequel to the recent opprobrium of 19 May specifically directed against the Special Assistant (SA) to Governor Ben Ayade on Students Affairs and Youth Mobilisation, Prince Michael Nku Abuo, by a no-nonsense former students activist, Abang Ogon, the said political appointee is perceived by some to have attempted by frantic efforts to launder his battered image by stage managing a National Association of Cross River State Students Worldwide (NACRISS WW) Award amongst others.
On Wednesday 19 May, Comr. Abang Ogon scribbled an open letter to SA Abuo titled: 'A Letter to the SA to Gov. Ayade On Student Affairs & Youth Mobilisation —By Abang Ogon', www.negroidhaven.org/2016/05/a-letter-to-sa-to-gov-ayade-on-student.html where the former vilified the latter for his obvious cluelessness, inefficiency and ineffectiveness in handling students affairs nay NACRISS WW matters. In his rejoinder SA Abuo employed the services of one of his allies in Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON), (of which he is the Director General while still holding public office as 'Special Assistant') one Comr. Samuel Ekeng-Ita who published an open letter titled: 'An Open Letter to Abang Ogon: A Response to his Open Letter to Mike Abuo', www.negroidhaven.org/2016/05/an-open-letter-to-abang-ogon-response.html In the said 'response', Comr. Ekeng-Ita reeled out the achievements of his principal, SA Abuo.
As if this literary approach was adjudged insufficient, the SA is rumoured to have stage managed a NACRISS WW award, 'Union General' yesterday in which the immediate past President of NACRISS WW, Comr. Uke Marshal in company of NACRISS WW Electoral Committee Chair, Obo Emmanuel, NACRISS WW Sole Administrator, one Comr. George Ajangson, the Electoral Committee Secretary Comr. Johnson Okam and one media aide ThankGod were seen in the office of the said political appointee as they stood taking photographs. In one of the shots, Marshal was understood to be decorating Abuo with his supposedly unconstitutional award of 'Union General'. It should be noted that the NACRISS WW officials visited the SA in in view of introducing the Electoral Committee, as well as state their challenges.
The questions are:
1. Why is a former President of NACRISS WW in the person of Comr. Uke Marshal seen to be awarding the political appointee in the person of Prince Michael Nku Abuo?
2. If Marshal must award this new recipient, Why didn't he include Abuo in his set of awardees during his presidency?
3. And if Ajangson is the one awarding, I adk: Is a sole administration, as led by Ajangson, supposed to coax support from politicians and influential members of the public especially for financial and/or logistics support for NACRISS Worldwide elections?
I expect Ajangson or Marshal to address themselves to the above set of questions. If not one may be compelled to continue in the believe that the award was stage managed. Put differently, the assertion by one social commentator, Ifere Paul, that, 'This is staged. You invited them for the award', is more indicting. Besides, Abuo's response, 'Is it easy? Lol! Invite them Na Ifere Paul….Lol!' is pre-eminently indicting.
Finally, the SA opined that this award on him is a plus to his principal, Governor Ben Ayade. I am still trying to rationalise this assertion seeing that, the Uke Marshal led NACRISS WW administration predates the Ben Ayade's administration of CRS and after more than a year Abuo could not influence his principal to pay the rentage for NACRISS Worldwide Secretariat at 5 Nyok Esu Street, no subvention, stranded scholarship students oversees, no bursary for Cross River State students, the controversy surrounding ITM, Ugep and a host of others.
So, how is this a plus to Ayade? Maybe it's a negative plus.
