… A man who imposed all the political positions in Cross River State, whose voice was intimidating like the voice of a lion… is now going around begging ALL THOSE HE BOOTED OUT FOR FORGIVENESS AND THOSE HE BOOTED IN NOW SEE HIM WITH CONTEMPT.
Ogon Bonaventure Ojah, the controversial APC member who recently made a troubling interpretation of the prophecy of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka concerning 'two PDP governors' about to be shown the way out of Governor's Office has made some revelations about the present political estate of the former governor of Cross River State, Sen. Liyel Imoke. OBO has made the position that Imoke, whom he described as being the most powerful political figure as recently as 2015 is presently on a one-man mission of apologising to his estranged former allies.
The most damning of OBO's submissions is that Imoke has been officially retired from politics by the very protégé he personally imposed on Cross Riverians! Excerpt:
Former governor of Cross River, Sen. Liyel Imoke now a Political Beggar
Introduction
The former governor of Cross River, Liyel Imoke whose voice thundered in the whole of the 196 council wards of the state from the creeks of Calabar South, Bakassi to the mountains of Obanliku and the grassland of Bekwarra and Yala like a growling lion, is now sober, frail and sickly looking. His grey hair now looks dull, grey and brown like an old Baboon. He complains of all his closest associates then, now deserting him.
'I Traded Certainty for Uncertainty'
He prized himself a demagogue then, but yesterday confessed that he "traded certainty for uncertainty", these are the exact words with which he described himself when he nicodemously visited Prince Goddy Jeddy Agba by 2:00AM sometime ago, begging with red eyes; the forgiving prince with the heart of an angel forgave to enable him amend his ways with God. Albeit, if the Holy Writ of Christians says the consequence of sin is death and the soul that sins shall die, does Imoke deserve forgiveness?
The Soul that Sins should Die!
Methinks, those allies Sen. Liyel Imoke betrayed politically especially during the 2015 PDP primaries should not allow him close to themselves again. Rumours have it yesterday that he even call Sen. Victor Ndoma Egba, the Chairman-designate of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Friday 22 July night begging for forgiveness. Oh! See how the mighty are fallen! Did he ever thought of this day in 2015?
My Protégé has Grounded me
The worst that has happened to former emperor Imoke presently is his forceful retirement from politics by the one he imposed on us, during the last congress of PDP in Cross River State. The incumbent governor has made sure he has absolutely dismantled all the structures put in place by Imoke, and replaced them with his appointees, he made sure all the Senators, House of Representatives members and all the state legislators had no say in electing the new party structure in the state, with this act, he has retired Imoke, the former demi god, permenantly from politics.
Imoke & Obono-Obla
Imoke knew this, he had no alternative than to make peace with those he thought he could forcefully retire from politics in 2015. Some time ago, he personally and later sent delegation to beg Chief Okoi Obono-Obla the SA to the President on Prosecution, whom he once sued for a N1 billion for defamation.
Moral Lessons from the Downward Spiral
The present fate of Sen. Liyel Imoke should be a moral lesson for some political godfathers who derive pleasure in imposition and impunity, a trend which is gradually becoming oldfashion. A man who imposed all the political positions in Cross River State, whose voice was intimidating like the voice of a lion in the forest is now going around begging all those he booted out for forgiveness and those he booted in now see him with comtempt.

Imoke remains a well respected politician. Whether he begs his friends and accolades is no business to nobody. As politics and relationship are two different things. Thank God he begged his friends to show braggadocios you how to live peaceably with your friends. Imoke left this state with peace of mind and never thought of controlling the state from the backyard he left Ayade to carry on cause Ayade will give account for the state and not Imoke. Imoke will never not be proud of his successful sail as he did. He remains the sailor who successfully sailed his sheep 100% over 100%. If he begs Sen Victor he begged his long standing friend, if he begged Goddy Agba he is a good person to beg him who he denied ticket. And you can only give one person ticket. Let's hear word pls.
All the writer was saying is that, these should serve as a lessen to those who think that, when given an opportunity in life, you use it to tramble on others, just like Imoke.
Imoke is a good for nothing moron… Who subverted the will of Cross River people. He will surgeon without end in the wilderness… Amen
Stories here and there, wht is special abt these two that the erstwhile governor would beg.believe it or nt,no such thing happened.even if the likes of Jedy had become governor or Senator Victor remain in the senate as a birth right,to d detriment of other local govt areas in Central senatorial district, wht would hv change?Abegy whts special here.
The 1st and 4th comments are merely made to console a godfather or so called "political juggernaut, who shamelessly conspired to worsen the situation in Bakassi and ruined our dear State for personal financial aggrandisement. What is too sure on the side of God is that, no sinner shall go unpunished, except there is absolute repentance as Imoke is now, if not, pretending to seek and provided he is sincere in his apologies because l know him as one who pretends alot and can hardly be predicted. Let him also extend his apology to Amb. Akpang Ade Obi-Odu for the evil he perpetrated against him when he conspired with the then Governors of the South-South to deprive him of a federal appointment as SA to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger-Delta Affairs to the detriment of the State, amongst other sundry issues too numerous to mention.
