Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney had his testimony match played against his boyhood club Everton, whom he joined at the age of nine and had his first professional debut at the age 16. Rooney who played for Everton 2002-2004 before moving to Manchester United for £25.6m, has won five Premier League with Manchester United, one Champions League, FA Cup once, FA Community Shield three times, League Cup twice, and Club World Cup once.
The match saw both teams playing hitting hard the ground running, obviously guarding their reputation as though something big was a stake.
Wayne Rooney is currently on 245 goals in 520 appearances for Manchester United, making him the club's second top goalscorer of all time. His 192 Premier League goals make him the competition's second top scorer of all time, and he holds the record for most goals for one club in the Premier League, with 177 for Manchester United.
The 30 year old Manchester United captain who will complete 31 October 24, has announced that all proceeds from his testimonial will go to disadvantaged children and young people across the United Kingdom.
The game which saw crowd of 58,597, present was Sir Alex Ferguson, Former Everton and United Manager David Moyes and Newly appointed England manager Sam Allardyce.
The game which ended 0-0, saw Ibrahimovich made his Old Trafford debut before been replaced 65minutes and while Rooney was replaced much earlier 52minutes.
After the match Wayne Rooney said, "Tonight is a night myself and my family will always remember."
