This is August, from reports reaching me has it that local government pensioners have not been paid their pension since May. Whereas their state government counterparts have received their July pension.
The marginalisation is not necessary. Why give preferential treatment to state government pensioners and neglect local government pensioners? It is callous and highly lampoonable. Is it a crime to serve one's nation or state? Is it a crime to be diligent? How do we expect our pensioners to survive? Some of them are on medications, they survive on medicines daily, how do we expect them to buy their medicines? How do we expect them to feed?
I do understand that CRS is experiencing hard times due to dwindling economy. But if the state government is paying state pensions, it is only natural that they pay local government pensioners equally.
Many have died as a result of non payment of their pensions. Please Governor Ayade, come to the aid of these old people before they all die of hunger and starvation. Sickness and lack of money to meet their needs.
