After a complete century, the erstwhile Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) President, João Havelenge, has joined his ancestors.
Laying credence to our source, Havelange who was born on the 8th of May, 1916 served as the seventh FIFA president between the year 1974 and 1998.
A brief biography of Joao has it that this phenomenal FIFA president, dropped a resignation as FIFA’s honorary president in April 2013 following an alleged case and investigation of bribery.
He was later admitted to the hospital the following year after being diagnosed of a lung infection.
Joao also served as a member of the prestigious International Olympics Committee (IOC) from year 1963 to year 2011.
His leadership principles and foresight will not be forgotten in a hurry by many of his successors with a quick mention is the just step aside, Sepp Blatter.
We wish him an eternal rest in the bosom of our Lord.
