The member representing Yakurr 2 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams has once again demonstrated the importance of legislation as one of the three main functions of government, which are often distinguished under the doctrine of separation of power by sponsoring four major bills as well as other vital reports. The bills which were passed into law on Friday the 19th of August 2016 include:

1. The Homeland Safety and Security Bill.

2. Greater Calabar Development Agency Bill.

3. Cross River State Revenue Administration Amendment Bill and

4. Harmonized Levies Bill.

Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams who also double as the Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation made the report for Environment and Carbon Emissions Bill, The Cross River State Revenue Administration Amendment Bill and The Harmonize Levies Bill of which he sponsored. These bills from all ramification will set standards and controls to govern the actions of the people and groups in the public and private spheres.

Signing the bills along side other bills into law, as presented  by the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gual Lebo, the Governor of Cross River State Prof. Benedict Ayade lauded the effort of the assembly and charge them to do more. More so, as a show of goodwill, Governor Ayade gave Rt. Hon. Jones Williams a golden hand shake and doled out a million naira to him for sponsoring a sensitive bill such as the Homeland Safety and Security Bill, which he describe as "a bill for the common man".

Speaking shortly after the signing of the bill into law, Rt. Hon. Jones Williams said he feels elated by the sensitivity of the bill as well as the consent given to it by the executive arm. He thanked governor Ayade for the kind gestures, and also the people of Yakurr 2 State Constituency for giving him the opportunity to provide effective representation in the 8th Assembly of the Cross River State House of Assembly.
