Mr Usani Uguru Usani

Good morning.

Moments ago, President Buhari spoke to us that this federal government has not abdicated its responsibility to deliver on the hopes of your democratic mandate.

This administration has demonstrated a sincere resolve to take politics and governance as two different concepts. In so doing, we have decided not to play politics with the things that matter most to our progress as a nation. Because of that resolve, we have been condemned by the actors (and their admirers) who almost plunged our collective socio-economic fortunes into the abyss. Our intervention in various segments of national social and economic constituencies clearly shows that our approach has a national orientation; and we will not renage (sic) on that.

Your high expectations are not misplaced; they are understood and respected. Your agitations for better life conditions are not mislaid; we admit that they are necessary and real. But we appeal for your patience, as our approach to providing solutions are not only world-standard, but are sincere and pragmatic.

Please don't lose patience in the strategies we are employing to move this country forward; we will not trade-off the public socio-economic space and the very essence of our heritage for anything, neither will we mortgage Nigeria's economic future.

Nigeria is on the path to greatness. She stands as the beacon of Hope to the people of Africa, and as the Sun, she shall shine to lead all of them. We are inspired by the the success stories of Singapore and South Korea and are working very hard towards a "Nigerian Success Story". Let us therefore, gather our greed and selfishness and burn them to ashes. I believe that at 56 we ought to have the courage to do so.

Please be patient in the face of the present difficulties; it will soon be dawn. With empathy, Vision and the fear of God, we are making life long commitments in leading you. We are not perfect, but we are on the right path and making progress.

We covert your prayers; for grace and wisdom, to give you appropriate leadership and a worthy foundation of prosperity that will accommodate the generations that will follow us.

Happy Independence!
I love you all!

Usani Uguru Usani
