'He is yet to tell me, but I have decided as his wife that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again'.

—Mrs Aisha Buhari
Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari

'I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.'

—President Muhammadu Buhari
Germany

The above two sets of paragraphs are credited accordingly to President Buhari and his wife, Aisha.

President Buhari’s statement alleging that his wife belongs to his kitchen, living room and the other room has been dismissed as demeaning against his wife, Aisha. It also gives a peep into the type of mind that the President of a so-called progressive party carries. In Cross River State as in other parts of Nigeria there have been a plethora of reaction both for and against the president.

However, in this publication I intend to capture how ladies received the reaction of Aisha Buhari. My interest reflects Didi Etta's, Affiong Ndem's, Endora Williams and Blessing Ikang. Did they agree with Buhari or took sides with Aisha. Excerpt:

OPEN LETTER TO HER EXCELLENCY AISHA MBUHARI

Dear Aisha M. Buhari,

You are now my person, thanks for coming out, I know it's hard to speak the truth considering where you are and the people you are surrounded with, but I'm thankful you now see things the way there are, you are so real.

From now hence-fight (not with u though) you are my person n I withdraw with immediate effect the name"Mrs Halliburtton" You are a star!

Yours truly.

To the ladies,  you better start asking Where you belong o because you may feel you are right beside, unknown to you that you belong in the kitchen or the other room.

One week One wahala me sef don tire 4 dis "CHAIN".

Endora Williams
My place and position as a woman can't and will never end in the kitchen or in my husband's bedroom and other rooms.

I must be seen, heard, and contribute to the leadership of my beloved country. May God help all the women in Nigeria. Amen🙇

Lol! Nigerians, making use of Buhari's un calculated and damaging replies. When our President thinks a woman's place is in the kitchen, living room and other room!

I don't blame him, this in incorporated in his religion + African mentality.

They —Endora, Affiong, Blessing and Didi—certainly didn't take side with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It seem to me that President Buhari is only progressive in name not in mind or character.

We may say it's a family affair between husband and wife but someone observed, and rightly I think, that during the election campaigns beginning from 2003 through 2015 Aisha Buhari's place was not just in the kitchen, living room and the 'other room' it was in constituencies etc. Is it now that the husband has finally assumed responsibility after she had campaigned all those years that she should be relegated to the rare? After over a decade she is now to be transfixed to the kitchen as a cook, living room as a receptionist and 'the other room' as a  object for oga's ultimate pleasure! Hmmmmm… I think change should begin with Mr President, then we will follow.

I stand with Aisha as well as Didi, Endora, Blessing and Affiong!
