After the State Executive Council meeting which held on Friday 21st October at the Executive Council Chamber, Governor's Office it was agreed that state broadcasting corporation, Cross River State Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) be digitised.
This decision was arrived at after the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Barr. Mrs. RoseMary Archibong made what was described as 'an exciting presentation on the proposed digitisation of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation'.
It will be recalled that popular social commentator, Prince Thomas Abi Jr, had in an article earlier on published on IPN News suggested the digitisation of state-owned broadcasting house. The decision to digitise CRBC is perceived to an adoption of Prince Abi's submission. According to Prince Abi, 'I wrote this piece on the 16th February, 2016, on the need to Repackage CRBC. I am glad the Cross River State government is taking a step in the right towards digitalizing CRBC'. On his part, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Asu Okang in affirming this sentiment noted that, 'That shows a responsive Government to Constructive not destructive perspectives'.
