The General Manager of Nigerian Chronicle, Mr. Emmanuel Akpong was on Wednesday dismissed as general manager of the newspaper corporation.
Mr. Akpong was replaced by Barrister Gilbert Napoleon Agbor, whom as at press time information is still sketchy about his previous background.
The just fired GM was redeployed from the state ministry of information to man the position as GM of Nigerian Chronicle, also known as Cross River Newspaper Corporation (CRSNC).
This appointment happened just within a few period of the current Prof. Ben Ayade led administration's resumption to office and no reason is spelt out yet to why he was laid aside on the job.
The newspaper corporation was famous as foremost government owned newspaper establishment that was circulated nationwide, but currently circulates only in the state after suffering mismanagement from successive administrations due to politicizing of the medium.
