In a meeting held on Sunday 16th July at Samantha Printers located directly opposite Calabar Municipality Council Secretariat, the duo of Messrs Castro Ezama and Anthony Bissong Attah, have resigned their Chairmanship and Leadership respectively of the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in Cross River State NegroidHaven can authoritatively report.
Before their resignation, the erstwhile Chairman of the YDP, Ezama constituted the Cross River State chapter of Young Democratic Party (YDP) Convention Planning Committee putting one Comrade Paul Eteng as its chair.
Ezama's resignation texts as culled by NegroidHaven reads thus: 'Dear All, I convey to you my appreciation for your support while I served as Chairman of YDP. I've resigned as Chairman and have handed over to the convention planning committee ably led by Comrade Paul Eteng. God bless you'.
Ezama's and Bissong's resignation of the YDP is a sequel to their acclaimed membership of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), a breakaway of the Young Democratic Party (YDP).
NegroidHaven has learnt from Bissong that the duo would soon hold a press conference to state the reason(s) for their resignation from the YDP and subsequent defection to the YPP. Their resignation has sent shocking waves across the entire YDP in Cross River.
It should be recalled that on Wednesday 17th June 2017 the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed the registration of five new political parties including YPP, and they are: Young Progressive Party (YPP), Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), New Generation Party of Nigeria (NGP), All Democratic Peoples Movement (ADPM) and Action Democratic Party (ADP).
