Sequel to the Wednesday 12th July 2017 Supreme Court judgement that sacked Sen. Ali Sheriff as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring Ahmed Makarfi as the chair of the caretaker committee of the aforementioned political party, a former aide to the Governor of Cross River State on National Contact and Strategy, Chief Ray Ugba Morphy, has outlined 9 conditions Ayade must meet as he prepares to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) NegroidHaven can say.
In a 15th July social media thread titled: 'As Ayade Prepares to come to the APC', Morphy listed as one of the conditions that, Gov Ayade will queue in the APC he is rumoured to defect to and clinch on the party gubernatorial ticket should the Cross River chapter of the APC deem it so. He added that Gov Ayade must eat the what he referred to as 'the humble pie' and know that he knows nothing. Morphy who presumably took a swipe at former governor of Rivers State and incumbent Minister of Transportation Chief Rotimi Amaechi when he referred to the one as an incumbent who lost election noted that anybody who will force a candidate on Cross Riverians should have a rethink.
He charged the governor to be prepared to reverse his years of ruining the state. Excerpt:
'1. He must be prepared to reverse his two years of ruining Cross River,
2. He must be prepared to dismantle the citadels of corruption he has built around himself and return monies looted.
3. He must be prepared to run the state transparently and bring the best hands of CRS on board unlike now.
4. All those ex governors who couldn't win their own States despite being governor who thinks they can force anything on us Cross Riverians should go and have a rethink!
5. If Ayade joins us, he will queue in the party like anyone else and will only get a ticket if the party of Cross River Origin find him worthy!
6. He must eat humble pie and realise that he knows nothing because the man who thinks he knows everything, knows nothing!
7. My personal opinion is that he brings no advantage to APC other than his bad and rubbished brand!
8. He must pay ALL workers and pensioners their due wages.
9. He must toe the line of real development and abandon his corrupt and tainted super this super that initiatives!'.
Will Morphy and the powers that be in the Cross River chapter of the APC walk the talk? Or, will they merely talk the walk? Only time and posterity will tell.
