The former Chapter Secretary of the Labour Party in Calabar Municipality, Elder Chief Maurice Ekeng, has been announced the Acting Chairman of the Labour Party in Cross River State NegroidHaven has garnered.
This information was contained in a press release made recently by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Daniel Oku, where his statements reads in part thus, 'I have been directed by the National Chairman LP, Alhaji A. A. Salam, to announce Elder (Chief) Maurice Ekeng former Chapter Secretary Calabar Municipality LP as the Acting State Chairman LP Cross River State'.
Recall that Mr Austin Ibok, the SA on Inter-Party Affairs to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, was the former state chair of the party. According to the press release, Mr Ibok's resignation from the Office of chair just got to the party hierarchy.
Chair Ekeng has been charged with the responsibility of 'commencing immediately the process of overseeing the activities by coordinating, mobilizing old and new members, revitalizing and revamping the party…'
