The APC ruling party is at loggerheads as to who becomes the 2019 presidential flagbearer, Negroidhaven can report authoritatively.

According to the Enugu Chieftain for the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief. Charles Udo Udeogaranya, who argued yesterday that Pres. Buhari has no justification for seeking a re-election come 2019 and hence, he should bow out with dignity.

According to Chief Ideogaranya, there is no need to fool oneself, "A spade should be called a spade and nothing else". He further argued that the incumbent president has not done anything for Nigerians that warrants his re-election. He has however plunged Nigeria into a deeper mess than how it was in the previous administration.

For Udeogaranya,President Buhari has not given Nigerians a better economy than he met it.

In his words:

“Mr President has not given Nigerians a more united Nigeria than he met it. He has not given Nigerians a safer country and a better power, road and other infrastructure than he met it.

Buhari has not given Nigerians better civility, rights and freedom of expression than he met. As a matter of fact, Mr President has not given Nigerians a reason why any one with sound mind should contemplate his re-election bid.”

In the same vein, Udeogaranya posited that “time has come when we as a people must boycott the boycottables and in unison reject the rejectables. 2019 is Nigerians’ destiny with a young man with creative ideas to turn the county around. And I believe I have what it takes to give Nigerians a better economy, civility and industrialisation” He said.

Reacting to the forgoing, another Chieftain in the same APC boat with the former, Chief Oke Ezea, an erstwhile governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, argued on the contrary, that Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, still remains the best candidate that can sweep massive votes for the party in the next general election, adding that the electoral demographics still favour him.

In his contrary opinion, Ezea urged that there is a need for the South East to harmonise with other regions to achieve a common goal.

For him,'the Southeast must make the region relevant by aligning themselves with the political reality so that President Buhari wins in the entire region to enable them have a shot at the presidency which had eluded them since 1999.'

Butttressing his point, the APC chieftain, further informs that recent criticisms of the party from within and from the main opposition party on social and traditional media will not change anything or rob President Buhari of victory.

For him, President Buhari still enjoys cult followership in the North, arguing that the votes from the North-west alone are higher than those of the South -east and South-south combined.

In his yesterday's statement which reads:

“No candidate can match Buhari in 2019. He is our best candidate for the job. All these social media attacks won’t affect our victory because the social media critics do not even have voter’s cards. Those who vote in the North are the common people. They don’t know anything about fuel scarcity because they don’t even have cars that consume fuel. They are not bothered about exchange rates.

“They don’t know dollars or Euros. They are only interested in food prices and happily enough the agricultural policies of Buhari has brought food prices down. So, all these indices that critics are harping on won’t work.”
