Comments and counter-comments have trailed the marred Sat. 5th May National Ward Congresses of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River following allegations of some power centres reportedly hijacking the process. Pst Usani Uguru Usani, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs has been at the middle of the allegations for allegedly ceasing Congress materials, scheduling a congress without these materials and even announcing results. He's been condemned by some as well as commended.
What follows are the critical comments and counter-critical comments that have characterised Usani's alleged involvement in the hijack of the failed ward congresses. Some have said, Usani isn't in error to have allegedly move to determine the results of the various ward congresses before time, others have justified him. Feel their pulse:

Akwa Ibom APC is united while Cross River APC is disunited with a "pastor" leading the pack of the disunity. Shame!
When a "pastor" is flagrantly, unconscionably and unashamedly averse to free & fair polls, it is a confirmation of where judgement will start from.

Hahahahahaha. The owner of the house does not want an outsider to come and destroy his house. Pastor Usani built that party alone… Nobody then could win a pooling unit or was available to pull a string in those dark days. He was always running from his home to rubber plantation for his dear life. All this names Bar Utum Eteng is calling here don't even go home let alone cast a vote.

Is that a childhood name or a pastor who preaches in the church? I don't understand.

Pastor Usani Usani the Niger Delta Minister just dealt a bad card with the way things went at the failed APC Congress in Cross River State. His actions gives the impression that he has some form of assurances that certain results are inevitable in 2019, otherwise he ought to know that the move he made was in bad taste and will certainly divide the party going into the 2019 elections which will certainly cause his party to loose elections.
As of today, if Usani Usani contests a free and fair elections in Yakurr, he would loose, not to talk of Cross River State. Apart from not being on ground he cannot be said to be a sellable candidate and I'm sure that fear and that of the unknown is what has made him resort to trying to rig the party congress for Cross River State so he plants his stooges and determines who flies which flag in the party in 2019. I think that is a bad move, what he ought to do now is to try to ride on the good will of others within his party and not seek to decide on his own what happens in the party. That sure will not work in this day and age, maybe in the military regime where he served as Commissioner, certainly not today.

Meanwhile in Cross River state, ND affairs minister(Pastor Usani Uguru) continues to be the the main reason why the local APC isn’t progressing or hasn’t unified. Their internal royal rumble continued over the weekend during their WAR(d) congress as it was alleged that he came along with mean looking officers to stave off any hijack attempt of the party’s structures from the likes of Ndoma-Egba, Owan-Enoh, Hilliard Etta and co. There are also strong rumors that he’s a stooge of Amaechi. My dear Cross Riverians, do you want your state to be a conquest of Amaechi?…

The trouble within the Cross River APC is deeper than is being reported. Contrary to popular belief that Usani Uguru is the party’s black sheep, I’ve reliably gathered that Senator Owan-Enoh who joined the fold barely a year ago is another person who is trying to destabilize the party as he believes he can bulldoze his way with money. According to reliable sources, the highly ambitious senator led the charge against Usani Uguru over the weekend as he came with close to 50 heavily armed security details to the congress ground(more than any other party big wig). I also gathered that the atmosphere was a vey feisty one as the Niger Delta affairs minister had to leave when he got wind of info that there was a plan to unleash thugs on him. It didn’t just end there; it was also strongly rumored that there were plans to touch his house.

That guy, Senator Owan Enoh hardly losses a fight l have realised. However, there is the need for them (APC CRS) to unite against petty issues and move on.

No matter how small a leader is, he should be respected. Pastoral charge does not imply been a Prague I guess.

The APC congress in CRS was postponed due to suspicions that the Leader of the party Pastor Usani Usani may have compromised the congress committee who on arrival acted in a suspicious manner.
Led by Senator Owan Enoh and Ntufam Hilliard Eta, NCC, South South, leaders and members of the party invaded the hotel premises where the committee was lodged to demand inspection of materials to ensure they were intact. In the process the members siezed some pre prepared lists that were suspected to be on hand to compromise the committee and use as congress results which had not yet held. This was only in a member's car in the premises of the hotel, not with the committee. The materials were however intact. As a result, members were able to insist on a proper stake holders' meeting which later held at the party secretariat…
Democracy is not without fault. What is required is that things are done right and when they are not, they must be corrected when the people demand so. I am very proud to have been a part of a protest that works. I am proud to be a member of a party where people power works, not where one man's wishes are the rule. That's the major difference I have seen from my experience so far and especially over the weekend. If this can be replicated nationwide, our democracy will advance. Let us hope that the NWC will act swiftly to meet the yearnings and aspirations of party members for a free, fair and transparent process. We deserve no less.

power belongs to the people and you cannot refuse it. i" cannot replace or overpower we". elections are a true test of ones popularity. if you hold the oppinion that you are on ground and in control then allow the people decide pls.

Ofem why do we need to fear him? Are we supposed to fear someone who should lead us? You’re talking about cats with nine lives; like we’re in the animal kingdom. Can he stop being a cat, since the rest of the APC members aren’t and mobilize acceptability and strength for a party that badly needs leadership now!
We’re having the most comical of governance from the PDP in Cross River State and your man is busy piling up cat lives when he should be  galvanizing everybody towards victory for APC in 2019

There were no APC congresses held anywhere in Ugep. We came out in our numbers to exercise our franchise in the bid to elect those capable of leading us at the ward level only for the Hon. Minister and his cohorts to thwart the whole process because of their selfish interest. The Hon. minister will put the party to the sword in the 2019 general elections if he's allowed to have his way… Well put together bro. The treacherous ways of Usani Usani will only end up putting the party to death in the state before 2019 general elections.

Yeye de smell.APC is False Party. They came into power on false promises they never intended to keep.Calabar Ugep road is a nightmare yet we have"Pastor "Usani at the helm of NNDC. APC  will never win any election in Cross River State.
Ogar Neji

May God not allow them put the name of the Lord to disrepute.

The name "Pastor" in Nigeria, is almost becoming a title

I thought the other side is better? The central senator will be thinking twice now, una never see anything yet.
NegroidHaven has further garnered that the national leadership of the APC has reconstituted a new Ward Congress committee. The Chairman of the Cross River State Wards and Local Government Area Councils Congresses Committee is retired Major General AT Umar from Nassarawa State. The new Congress is slated for Saturday 12th May.
As at press time, the Nigerian Police was still in custody of Congress materials.
BLOGGERTORIAL
I learnt that it was the Senator representing Central Senatorial District at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr John Owan-Enoh, that bursted the move of Usani… Whatever, I wish to register my utmost displeasure with the poor outing of the APC in Cross River especially in respect of this Congress development.
This incident confirms my suspicion that the APC whether in the state or nationwide is not a serious party. They lack that inherent touch of quality leadership. If they can't conduct commonest thing as ward congress successfully, is it Nigeria they would direct successfully? Hmmmm!
