Pink Africa Foundation, a non-profit organization, recently organized the maiden edition of the Pink on Heels Mother/Daugther brunch aptly themed "What she thinks, she becomes." The event also witnessed the unveiling of the Pink Pearls reusable pads and the induction of 25 new members fully committed to nation building.
The Pink Pearls reusable pads designed to be used multiple times and still give the girl child comfort, were unveiled to raise funds to provide more menstrual hygiene products for girls of reproductive age and women across the State.
Speaking during the unveiling, the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong noted that the event brings to mind how much the girl child is important to the society and how the girl child needs protection. While her counterpart in the State Ministry of Women Affairs, Hon. Stella Odey, expressed delight at the way women are increasing looking for other women and providing support for the younger generation.
The founder, Dr. Nchiewe Ani, opined that the foundation is poised to better Africa by empowering the children, especially the girl child, to actualize their potentials in education, health, social well-being among other things. The foundation also underlines the welfare of the African woman as a key to achieving growth and development, she stated.
The fun-filled and highly entertaining event had in attendance top Government functionaries and dignitaries from across the country who took turns to encourage the African woman and the girl child in general to think outside the box, raise Godly child and the act of showing love and respect which are the key ingredients to maintaining a successful marriage and peaceful home.
