On behalf of the Executive and Members of the Students Transformation Movement [STM], a grass root advocacy and mobilization support group drawn from the seven Local Government Areas of Southern Senatorial District in Cross River State. We hope this letter meets you well and not as a surprise due to the fact that it was not sent directly to you.
As progressive student leaders who desire progress, development, transformation and good governance in our Senatorial District, we deem it necessary to write you this letter after a brain storming emergency meeting of the National Executive Council held recently in Calabar.
In view of the fact that it is yet another period with history and posterity has beckoned on all of us, the good and loving people of Southern Senatorial District of CRS, to take our destiny once again in our hands, as the political wind continues to blow across the country’s horizon and high level of intrigue and controversies seem to have enveloped Southern CRS over who sits on its senatorial seat come 2019.
Having critically and carefully understudied the political terrain of our Senatorial District for about seven years, during the four years tenure of Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu and three years currently occupied by Sen. Gershom Bassey, it is very crystal clear that the Southern Senatorial District in this dispensation has been sweltering in the heat of ineffective representation occasioned by empty as well as unfulfilled promises, politics of hijack and self-centeredness, where deceit becomes the order of the day whereas the dividends of democracy is sunk into oblivion.
It is on this wise, without fear, favor or support from any quarters, the above named interest support group humbly and most respectfully wish to URGE you to contest for that great celestial level of leadership and service to Humanity [ SENATOR SOUTHERN SENATORIAL DISTRICT OF CROSS RIVER STATE] under the auspices of the PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY [PDP] come 2019, as victory awaits you at the poll.
Ntufam Ekpo Okon, you are indeed a wagon of integrity, an erudite scholar, a great philanthropist, the Man in our Neighborhood, the Real Party Man who will remain the most outstanding candidate of the PDP to face and withstand the heat of the opposition parties in the General Elections.
Sir, you are a man so down to earth and popularly demanded by the masses. A man who listens to the plight of his people with empathy and ready to take our challenges to the hallowed chamber come 2019. You are the solid foundation we so desire with indisputable political/social spreed across board.
Indeed you are a bastion of hope, a man with a heart of Gold, inspired by God almighty to equip and raise generations of young transformational leaders, hence this always constitute the hallmark of your ideological aspirations. These eloquent testimonies abound from the beneficiaries of your benevolence when you were on the saddles, not only to members of your Senatorial District but across the State, including the multiplicities of these your altruistic acts are beckoning on you to accept our clarion call.
Having enumerated and traced your sterling political antecedents/ outstanding unique qualities, we strongly believe you are inspired and convinced to take a bold step in the right direction.
Believe, together we can. If we can dream it together, then we can achieve it together.
