Cross River youths not wavering in their quest for responsive CSR

Determined to find a lasting solution to the undermining of Cross River Youths by some indigenous companies in their negligence of the Local Content Law and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) due to their host communities and the State in general, some youths of the State under the auspices of Concerned Cross River Youths have for the second time met to ascertain the best approach to engaging these companies within the ambit of law.
Speaking during the meeting, Comrade Adjah Adjah inferred that some companies the State actually pay monies meant for CSR to Paramount Rulers in those communities, suggesting that a letter should be sent to the Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade, requesting for an invitation to all the indigenous companies to a town hall meeting to explain their operations and future plans.
Also speaking, the PRO, National Youth Council of (NYCN), Comrade Elvis Enyam insisted that the body should equip themselves with the provisions of the Local Content Law, in order not to go out of course, while Comrade Obedience Abeng suggested that the Commissioner, Cross River State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development should synergize with the NYCN to drive the entire process. On his part, the Publisher of the Warden, Andrea Ekeng Inyang proposed that the needful should be done within the law to Consult, Consolidate and Confront.
Submissions made during the meeting resulted in the forming of a standing committee to spearhead the process. The committee has the following as members:

The terms of reference includes among other things: fact finding and getting details on contracts, employment CSR (Trainings, Scholarships, Sponsorship etc); and formally meet with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Company Matters, Hon. Paul Effiong, with an expectation to brief the housewithin 30 days.
