SENATOR Gershom Bassey, the Senator representing the Southern Senatorial district of Cross River State at the Senate of the Federal Republic has presented his score card spanning projects and programmes he executed in the past three years, an indication that he would achieve more in years ahead.
The projects which span roads rehabilitation, educational, health care projects and welfare scheme schemes touch the lives of thousands of his constituents both indigenes and non indigenes.
On roads rehabilitation, devastated roads like Idundu-Calabar-Oban-Akamkpa road long abandoned and considered death trap was rehabilitated and made motorable along with the Calabar- Akamkpa–Biase Road which had been ravaged for several decades was given a facelift.
Senator Gershom Bassey popularly known as the ‘Eagle has landed’, during the period constructed classroom blocks, furnished school libraries and provided solar powered boreholes in Ojuk South, and Akamkpa Urban in Akamkpa local Government Area.
Other projects executed by the Senator during in the past three years which directly touch the lives of the people include the provision of solar powered boreholes in Ikot Effiom village, Akpabuyo, provision of integrated water scheme in four locations; Okurike, in Odukpani Local Government Area, Ikot Ana, Ijum Orubam and Betem in Biase local Government Area.
Hospital projects, include the equipping of primary health care centre with medical supplies, drugs, furniture in the following areas, Uwet, Akamkpa, Odukpani, Ikot essien , Ndom Nmon, Qua, Oduyama, Obomitiat.
He also undertook the task of providing women empowerment with the construction of lock up shops in Akpabuyo, Akpabuyo local Government Area and Ikot Enebong 8 miles, in Calabar Municipality,
His love and care for the people made him to provide twenty seater new passenger ferry boat powered by two 35 horse power horse outboard engine at Ikot Ana Biase, Biase local Government Area.
To equip the youths with life skills, the Senator provided training in various trades for 150 youths and women of Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Akamkpa, Akpbuyo, Odukpani, Biase, and Bakassi local Government Area
He also provided a brand new 18 seater bus to the physically challenged in Calabar South and Municipality with which they have used tp generate funds to empower themselves with business centre, vulcanizing, and other trades items.
Apart from regular attendance of Senate, sittings he also moved several Motions among these are the need for Intensified Sensitization on Climate Change and Adoption on the Nigerian Agricultural sector, Motion on complaint about armed brutality and an intent to defraud Nigeria.

Without gainsaying, Senator Gershom Bassey is truly a working Senator who deserves some accolades because he has made much difference in lives of thousands of people of the district in just three years and is set to do more in years ahead.
