Calabar –The Governing Council of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has announced a vacancy for the position of Vice-Chancellor, inviting applications from qualified professors with distinguished academic and administrative experience. The advertisement, published in the Vanguard newspaper on Tuesday, outlines stringent criteria for candidates seeking to lead the state-owned institution NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

Prospective applicants must be full professors with at least seven years of experience at that rank in a recognized university. The ideal candidate should possess:

– A strong international reputation and academic linkages

– Minimum of 25 scholarly publications in reputable journals

– Proven ability to command respect from staff, students, and the university community

The Vice-Chancellor will serve as the chief executive and academic officer, overseeing senate, congregation, and convocation meetings while advising the Governing Council on policy and administration. Key duties include maintaining institutional discipline, regulating student admissions, and fostering the university’s growth.

The successful candidate will be appointed for a single five-year term, with salary and conditions aligned with federal university standards. Applicants must submit 20 copies of their detailed CV, including academic credentials, a vision statement for UNICROSS, and referee contacts.
