Calabar– The Special Advisers’ Forum in Cross River state has lauded Governor Bassey Otu for his transformative leadership, which has restored hope and confidence among the people of the state. Speaking at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Calabar, the Special Adviser on Projects/Programs Monitoring and Evaluation, Raphael Adoga Morphy, commended the Governor for his remarkable achievements in economic reforms, infrastructural development, and overall governance NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

Morphy highlighted Governor Otu’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity, which he said have ushered in a new era of development and prosperity for Cross River State.

“Since assuming office, Governor Otu has hit the ground running, taking governance to unprecedented heights. His few months in office have been nothing short of remarkable. Beyond mere enthusiasm, he has translated his vision into tangible action, expending extraordinary energy to address long-standing challenges that had plagued the state,” Morphy stated.

Morphy outlined key projects in the Northern Senatorial District, showcasing the Governor’s dedication to improving infrastructure and quality of life for residents:

– Ogoja: The 12.5km road construction and rehabilitation project from Ndok Junction into Ogoja town, along with the construction of access roads, has significantly enhanced the town’s infrastructure.

– Yala: The construction of the Yache-Wanokom-Wanikade road has been a game-changer for several isolated communities, connecting them to major economic hubs.

– Bekwarra: The provision of transformers has addressed long-standing electricity challenges, bringing relief to residents who had endured years of blackouts.

– Obudu: The Obudu Cargo Airport project, now at 90% completion, is a testament to the Governor’s commitment to boosting economic activities and connectivity in the region.

The Special Adviser on Asset Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, highlighted the Governor’s efforts in the Central Senatorial District, including:

– Road construction projects in Ugep, Obubra, and Ikom, aimed at improving transportation and economic activities.

– Significant investments in agriculture to boost productivity and foster economic growth.

The Special Adviser on Events Management, Effiong Ekpeyong, emphasized the Governor’s achievements in the Southern Senatorial District and across the state. Key areas of intervention include:

– Transport Infrastructure: Development of roads, railways, and aviation facilities.

– Electrification: Expansion of electricity to underserved communities.

– Peace and Security: Enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of residents.

– Education and Healthcare: Significant investments in quality education and healthcare services.

– Youth Development and Economic Reforms: Programs aimed at empowering youths and driving economic growth.

– Environmental Management and Tourism: Initiatives to promote sustainable environmental practices and boost tourism.

– Social Welfare: The “Humanity Without Borders” empowerment initiative, spearheaded by the First Lady, has provided critical support to vulnerable populations.

The Special Advisers’ Forum unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Otu, praising his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of Cross River State.
