Cross River Government Commences Recovery of Public Assets across the State, Otu receives Accolades

The Cross River State Government has commenced a statewide assessment to recover public assets unlawfully occupied by private individuals and organizations. The initiative, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, began in the central senatorial district and will extend across the state.

Speaking to journalists in Calabar, Barr. Agbor issued a stern warning to illegal occupants, instructing them to vacate immediately. He emphasized that the government is fully committed to reclaiming all misappropriated assets through legal means, ensuring that public property is rightfully restored.

He further noted that the assessment has already yielded significant progress, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible asset management.

The initiative has been met with widespread approval from Cross Riverians, who see it as a crucial step toward effective governance. Among those commending Governor Bassey Otu is the Chief Executive Officer of Hit FM Calabar, Mr. Patrick Ugbe, who praised the government’s firm stance. He urged the administration to remain steadfast despite potential resistance, ensuring that public assets are recovered and utilized for the benefit of all citizens.

Following Governor Otu’s directive to the Asset Management and Recovery Department to investigate and reclaim all illegally acquired state property, residents have eagerly awaited the repossession of these assets for public use.
