The Office of the Wife of the Governor of Cross River state has debunked a false notice circulating regarding admission opportunities into the University of Calabar and Cross River State University. The notice, purportedly issued by Hon. Torita Odey, Special Adviser for Women Mobilization and Development, called on parents and guardians to submit their children’s admission documents for special consideration NEGROIDHAVEN can say.
In an official rejoinder signed by Dr. Comfort Oko, Senior Special Adviser for Administration in the Office of the Wife of the Governor, the office clarified that neither Her Excellency nor her office authorized any such directive. The statement labeled the circulating notice as “false and misleading.”
“It is important to emphasize that Her Excellency is fully committed to the principles of merit, transparency, and equal access to opportunities for all citizens,” the statement said. The Office also reiterated that all admission processes for the state’s academic institutions are managed solely by the respective institutions based on their established guidelines.
The public has been urged to disregard the false notice and to verify any communication attributed to Her Excellency through official channels to avoid falling prey to misinformation.
Her Excellency’s office reaffirmed its dedication to promoting academic excellence and ensuring merit-based and transparent admissions processes. It also warned that any attempts to mislead the public or circumvent these values would not be tolerated.
