The Cross River State Department of Projects/Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPPME), the Department of Budget Monitoring and Evaluation (DBME), and the Department of Public Transportation (DOPT) have undergone significant transformation under Governor Bassey Otu’s administration, as part of his “Season of Sweetness” agenda NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

Since assuming office, Governor Otu has prioritized the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure across the state. His administration has focused on fixing roads and revamping several government buildings and offices. Among those benefiting from this development drive are key state institutions such as the Governor’s Office, the State Library, the Presidential Lodge, the Governor and Deputy Governor’s lodges, the Local Government Service Commission, and the Governor’s Lodge in GRA, Ogoja.

This wave of upgrades, part of the governor’s broader transformation agenda, has now extended to the DPPME, DBME, and DOPT, giving these departments a new and improved outlook. The transformation is in line with Otu’s vision to modernize the state and position it as an attractive destination for both local and foreign investors.

In an interview with Mr. Raphael Murphy, Special Adviser to the Governor on Projects/ Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation, he described the ongoing developments as just the beginning of what is to come under the “Sweet Prince” administration. According to Murphy, the governor has committed to completing all ongoing state projects initiated by previous administrations, in addition to new initiatives aimed at revitalizing the state’s infrastructure.

Murphy expressed confidence in Governor Otu’s ability to deliver on his promises, noting that many of the projects are already at advanced stages of completion, with some ranging between 50% and 99% finished. Several projects have already been completed and are awaiting commissioning.

“Governor Otu is a man of his word, and the people of Cross River will soon see the full impact of his administration’s transformation agenda,” Murphy stated.
