Nigerians have continued to express anger over the adulterated petrol imported into the country by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
This is as complaints of damaged vehicles keep pouring in on social media with some tweeps advising those who are affected to seek legal redress.
But then others have raised concern about the possibility of such case sailing through in the Nigerian judicial system.
@ENIBOY: โNigeria doesnโt have a culture of litigation thatโs why NNPC can sell adulterated petrol that damaged peopleโs cars & many are not in court. Imagine it was in USA that this happened? There would be a class action by now running into billions of dollars.
โAnother challenge is that Nigerians hardly collect receipts after buying petrol at filling stations. How then can you prove in court that you bought petrol from a filling station except maybe you used POS.โ
@DavidHundeyin: โSo to recap, a shipment of adulterated petrol was brought into Nigeria by Duke Oil, an NNPC trading subsidiary registered in 1989 in the tax haven and money laundering paradise of Panama, under the famously transparent and incorruptible Ibrahim Babangida administration.โ
@aproko_doctor: โHow does NNPC plan to compensate the engines theyโve knocked?โ
@DailyPostNGR: โIf we had President, NNPC would be sanctioned over adulterated petrol โ Eedris Abdulkareem.โ
@Jonnielledun: โHow does a whole NNPC send Nigerians adulterated fuel just to cause fuel scarcity?
Allah, this Government will not kill somebodyโs son.
Las las, nobody (I mean nobody) will be held responsible for the bad fuel that has damaged my car.
Oxlade, please do something!โ
@nafeezi: โ100 million of adulterated petrol circulating in the country
This is one of the greatest economic sabotage and scandal in Nigeriaโs modern history
In a sane clime everyone in NNPC will be sent packing
Mind you the adulterated petrol has been handsomely โsubsidizedโ
Frauds.โ
@ruffydfire: โI am happy the fuel Scarcity will gradually reduce over the weekend. Is it that NOBODY monitored the quality of fuel imports? Who dropped the ball? What is NNPC saying?.NARTO is also threatening a strike! The Guardian Uk says, Nigeria imports very dirty fuel. What is happening?โ
@MalachyOdo1: โThere can be a class action against the NNPC & MRS from all those whose car engine have malfunctioned as a result of the โbad fuelโ.
Right?โ
@CaptainAikay: โMele Kyari who is the current NNPC chairman is on the board of Duke Oil. Tells you everything. Nigeria is a massive crime scene. The beasts feeding of this carcass are just too much wallahi.โ
@Tundeon: โI said in a forum yesterday that the adulterated fuel is linked to extension of subsidy and 2023 elections, all is falling into place now. Duke oil staffs are NNPC staff.โ

The activities of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency has come under negative review as many residents of the state make one or more cases against the agency.
Below are some engagements collected from the trend:
@OGAGREG: โAt this time you expect Lastma officials to flood the roads as traffic will be more intense, but you may not see them in numbers, just one or two wielding garden fork waiting for a traffic offender.โ
@MogajiofLagos: โTraffic everywhereโฆ Lastma officials on rampageโฆ Horns blaringโฆ Traders rushingโฆ Corpers frowningโฆ Commuters in painโฆ Agberos gberoingโฆ
A Typical Lagos!!!โ
@kaball32: โTo curb corruption in this lagos start from lastma on ikorodu road thoes guys collect bribe for a living.โ
@Agbayaoflagos: โI really want to say Iโm exercising my first amendment rights one day but PTSD from LASTMA experience wonโt let me.โ
@AnderuOgbeni: โPlease Twitter family LASTMA arrested my brother twice in one week billing him #80k in the process. These actions are unbearable. Unacceptable. Did they want to render people jobless?โ
