An 80m by 20m green-white-green flag, on Tuesday, was hoisted at the Millennium ‘Eleven-Eleven’ Park Cenotaph in Calabar the Cross River state capital city NEGROIDHAVEN can say categorically.
The Managing Director of Summit Hills and Acting Managing Director of Cross River State Garment and Textile Factory, Mr. Joseph ‘La’Shakara’ Edet, hoisted a new Nigeria flag for the fifth consecutive time in the state capital metropolis.
MD Edet while presenting the flag to the state government through the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Eric Anderson, said the national flag represents ‘the rising of the African giant’, added that the gesture ‘…is just my little contribution to our dear state to boost our hospitality signature as a model state in Nigeria, and we hope to sustain the momentum’. Our correspondent garnered that Edet has made hoisting of Nigeria’s flag in the state capital a consistent ritual.
Present at the occasion were important dignatories like the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chair of Odukpani LGA, Chief Akiba Ekpenyong; Special Assistant on Strategic Communication, Ekeng Inyang and others who both expressed delight and commended the initiative.
