ABUJA —One of the former aides to the Executive Governor of Cross River State was on Saturday acknowledged as a global icon in the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
At the 2019 edition of the African Youth Summit (AYS), youths across Africa through an award series initiated during the event honoured Arc. Eric-Williams Akpo the former Special Adviser on Technical Matters to the Governor of the state as a ‘Youth Global Icon’.

An alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA Akpo was Senior Legislative Aide to then Senator Ben Ayade during the 7th Senate; having had a stint in the private sector as an Architect with Kostarget Projects Ltd,
Lagos and as a Relationship Officer with the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc. in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Akpo has had a thing for youths. He is a member, multi-board member and Local Organization President of the Junior
Chamber International, JCI a worldwide organization of young active citizens who are conglomerated with a focus on
creating a positive change.
The summit held at the Bolingo Hotels and Towers in Abuja.
