The Senator representing Cross River Central at the floor of the National Assembly (NASS), Mr John Owan-Enoh, Tuesday, won Cross River State APC gubernatorial primaries NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively. 
Owan-Enoh scored a total of 82, 272 votes to beat his closest rival, High Chief Edem Duke, who had 7,367 votes. Other aspirants polled as follows: Eyo Etim Nyong: 5,786 votes, John Upan: 3, 892 votes, Usani Usani: 1,778 votes. 
The result was announced by Mr Ali Magaji, Chairman of the Committee sent by the National Working Committee of the APC. This committee acknowledges the Dr Matthew Achigbe's faction of the APC in the State.  
Chief Okoi Obono-Obla the Presidential Adviser on Prosecution has congratulated Owan-Enoh disclosing that his victory was swift, decisive and overwhelming. According to him, Owan-Enoh's traction, spread and presence throughout the 196 Wards in Cross River State was a product of the latter's political deftness. 
His words, 'Big Congratulations to Senator John Owah Eno, Chairman Finance Committee, Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his emergence as the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Cross River State of Nigeria in 2019 general election. 
'His victory was swift, decisive and overwhelming. He was the only aspirants among the pack who had traction, spread and presence throughout the 196 Wards in Cross River State. His political structures and indeed tentacles across the State was formidable and intimidating. 
'Senator John is undoubtedly an experienced political gladiator. He got the experience, pedigree, character and drive to take Cross River State to the next level.  He is fully home grown "boy". He is not a Lagos " boy"or Warri"  boy" . He is a proper Cross River State "boy" who perfectly appreciate and understands the dynamics, problems challenges, intracacies, aspirations and yearnings of the people of Cross River State.'
It would interest the reader to know that Senator John was a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly between 1999-2003; Honourable Member, House of Representatives between 2003-2015; member, Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2015 till date. He was also Chairman of the powerful Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives from 2011-2015. He is member of an influential political and policy think tank close to the Presidency —the influential Governance Support Group.
