The National Association of Northern Cross River State Students-Worldwide(NANCRISS-WW) has today inaugurated its new EXCO. The inauguration took place at the mini auditorium, Cross River State House of Assembly complex, Calabar.
Delivering his opening speech, the inauguration committee chairman, Comr. Ategwu Paul, expressed gratitude to the student union government of the University of Calabar and members of NANCRISS-WW for working toward the success of the election that produced the new exco, while also appealing for their support to the EXCO.
''Let me appreciate the active support of members of the electoral committee and the SUG president, Comr. Afufu Anthony.
I am deeply grateful to all NANCRISS worldwide stakeholders who I may not be able to mention by their different names here.
"It is my earnest prayer that our collaborative effort should be geared toward the actualization of our resolved objectives, both of the association and that of the benefits of our members.
All hands must be on deck to support this course.'' he stated.
Waxing philosophically in his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated president of NANCRISS-WW, Comr. Ajang Precious Odey, stated that the inauguration marks a new beginning for the association, as he also expressed delight for being chosen to lead the body at a time like this.
''Today marks a new beginning; a beginning of hope; a hope which was fuelled by God Himself through our resilience and determination; a determination hinged on brotherhood and the need for continuity and effectiveness.
"I am glad I've been chosen to help forge the task ahead of us. The executive council of NANCRISS worldwide, for so long was buried in the very depth of rejection and silence, but the very spirit of comradeship never dies in us, as the worldwide president of the northern senatorial district has maintained the tempo.'' he said.
The president also announced programmes that will be undertaken by the new exco to include academic empowerment, free feeding and others that will impact positively on the general well-being of members.
The oath of office was administered to the president and other exco members by the chief judge of 'Malabo Republic', Comr. Agaji Sunday, while certificate of office was presented by Comr. Eric Akpo, special adviser to the governor of Cross River State on technical matters, who also was one of the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
