Obla sandwiched in between critical comments in respect of his said suspension…
Efio-Ita Nyok|7 November 2017
A handful of Cross Riverians and Nigerians alike have responded to the yesterday news of the suspension of Chief Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla, Chairman, Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property.
Chief Obono-Obla’s actions lately, in respect of his chairmanship of the Special Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, is alleged by His Excellency the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, to be running counter to the enabling act establishing it.
The letter addressed to the Office of the Attorney General also notes that the activities of the panel have contravened established administrative procedures and protocols in the nation’s civil service structure.
Our correspondent isolated some of the reactions :
Edet Iyamba General
After using our Yakurr Chief to do dirty jobs, this is what he gets in return.
I shouted and screamed about the way and manner chief Obla-Obono was going about his job.

Just as his boys are doing down here, say much about things they have little or no knowledge about all in the name of social media popularity. Time shall tell
Eugene Upah
I remember doing an article on him early this year where I said his appointment has taken CRS 2 steps backward. I remember the attack I got
Prince Uduma Ewona
He was even saying offensive things much more than Lie Lie Mohammed and Femi Adesina who at least had some percentage to tell an iota of lies in defense of their master. He wanted people to see him as being so close to PMB and suddenly forgot where he came from.
Obedience Abeng
Loquacious to a doom
Hilary Ebughe
I took out time to read comments on his purported removal from channels Facebook handle. It baffled me that no single person had something good to say about him. That is the negative effect of blind loyalty.

This is good News
Patrick Unimagbebia Akongwale
I pray he’s not sacked. But, someone should reduce his TV appearances. He’s disgracing Cross River State, the way he talks and even interrupt journalist is not a good sale for any organization.
Bisong Obi
He thought he could impress them by attacking everyone especially in the past administration.
Justin Obongha
The official letter forwarded to Chief Okoi Obono-obla doesn’t actually imply that he has been dropped or suspended as the news reads. The media commentators have maintained an unbending position that he  has been dropped. If the mind of the presidency was captured in that letter, it simply implies that he is being cautioned about his public opinion and media appearance. This also implies that he must return to the drawing board with them and make public statements only from their pre-written and reviewed script. Invariably, they want him to remember hierarchy and pay due credence to that fact.  For those celebrating, I don’t know what they will benefit if the federal government relieved him of his duties.

Simon Utsu, Prince Thomas Abi Jr., disregard fake news.

That is Why i dislike this APC Govt, their lies and counter denials are becoming Digital.
Eno Bekwe Ikwen
Cross Riverians,  always happy to see their own go down. Some are already celebrating. No wonder we rank high in witchcraftcy.

Blessing Njong
The enemies have failed.  Shameless people.  Chief will continue going higher and higher.
Undiandeye Jude
I just listened to the top news on channels television saying Obla has been removed as head. Not only that the humiliation went further. He should seek clearance from the AGF before addressing the press. Obla is finished.
Gregg Ayim
Obla talks carelessly. Advise him if you are close to him. I watched him defending Maina on Channels TV and I was ashamed he is a Crossriverian.
Deborah Akpe
I don’t understand what some people mean by fake news. If the news is fake, fine and good. But do not start castigating those who saw it. I myself saw it on AIT news bar last night.
Veronica Obi
why are you you disclaiming the news, you are a carrier of fake news.
*No doubt, Obono-Obla’s suspension has incited mixed reactions from Cross Riverians and Nigerians alike —some happy, others sad. Others, indifferent. Hmmm!
