The 6th Senate of the Post Graduate Students Government (PGSG) of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has, Monday, summoned the Director of Socials, Mr Justice Eyakene of PGSG UNICAL over derogatory comments made against the Speaker of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), John Gaul Lebo, sequel to the recent visit of the Nwuyi Okori Sam-Uket-presided Senate to Rt. Hon. Lebo, NegroidHaven has learnt.
On 6th of October, Director Eyakene opined via his Facebook account that it's preferable for a visit to be made to him than paying such visit to the Speaker of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly. Eyakene, who tagged 23 persons to the post, explained that, visiting him would cause such a guest to be treated with such hospitality as being given a bottle of water, advise, transportation fare and probably research grants.
According to Eyakene, 'It is better to pay me (Comr Eyakene) a courtesy call than to pay the speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly… Atleast if u pay courtesy call to me de latest Dino Melaye…. U should xpect gud hospitality lik chill bottle water n sound advice n transportation..Maybe support ur research with some grant to prove a level of leadership n support.'
In a summon letter dated 6th October 2017, and titled: 'Invitation to appear before an emergency Senate session slated for Monday 9th October, 2017', the letter says in part, 'to clear the air on your action against the senate visit to the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly'. The said PGSG Senate session is slated for 4pm today.
NegroidHaven hasn't yet certify whether Director Eyakene will be punished for his actions on social media and if so, to what tune. Again, NegroidHaven is yet to say authoritatively whether this PGSG Senate reaction is inspired directly by Rt. Hon. Lebo.
Details of the emergency session will follow accordingly.
