Biggest vessel berths in Calabar Seaport, FG to commence dredging in 3 weeks

Information made available to our news desk suggests that Calabar Seaport has recorded the berthing of the biggest vessel, Desert Ranger, since its inception. The Federal Government has pledged to commence dredging of the Calabar port. 
According a News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reporter, Mr George Odok Jnr, ''Desert Ranger', becomes the biggest vessel to have ever berth in the Calabar Port since inception. The vessel arrived Calabar on Wednesday from Greece and conveying 60,000 metric tons of wheat flour.
'We hope that the dredging of the Calabar Port will commence in three weeks time as announced by the Federal Government'. 
It's anticipated that with the materialisation of the the dredging, economic boom is set to hit Calabar, Cross River State and the adjoining communities. 
According to a source, 'If this is done, then it is expected that the port will begin to witness traffic while businesses and job opportunities will be on the increase'.
