The survivor of the 4th September 2017 assassination attempt, Joseph Odok Esq., Ph.D, has named the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Cross River-based news website, CRW, Mr Agba Jalingo, as being involved in the conspiracy to assassinate his character NegroidHaven has garnered.
According to Odok, the conspiracy was aimed at building falsehood about an erroneous racketeering allegation, and misrepresenting the position of security agencies on the incident. Odok has described Mr Jalingo as a traitor who built a false story about him.
His words, ‘In my days of silence conspirators with my assassins like Agba Jalingo, and his co-travelers were all out to build lies and misrepresent the security agencies. I am out with the truth now, let them come out.
‘Agba is the worst traitor, I never knew he was just dragging me close to strike at me. He went as far as misrepresenting my brother George Odok, DSS Cross State head and Police Public Relations Officer to build a false story of  my involvement in Visa racketeering, he reduced my assassination story to a brawl as a result of an alleged dubious act of extorting money from a girl for a Visa transaction. I know one demon his name is Agba Jalingo’.
NegroidHaven has confirmed that publisher Jalingo has misrepresented some truths in the entire incident. First, on the 5th September Facebook wall of the said publisher, it’s reported that DSS arrested Odok. This isn’t true. It’s also reported from hearsay account that Odok collected monies for the said visa procurement. Odok has denied this allegation. No amount was named neither when, where or how was the said payment. Journalist and commentators alike have said publisher Jalingo would have exercised restraints considering the propensity to character assassination.
For instance, journalist George Odok Jnr has explained in the line of reasoning above thus: ‘… Stories are flying up on what the girl said,  and some people are quick to digest it. If I may ask, who saw this girl before her arrest? Who interviewed her after her arrest to ascertain the true cause of the incident? But, we are keen on digesting ‘hear-say’ report… We must filter all that we hear on a screen of truth’.
Again, George Odok Jnr, has further noted that ASP Ugbo has confessed that she was misrepresented by news websites on the Odok failed assassination where she was reported to say that Odok was involved in a visa racketeering deal. According to the journalist, Odok has rather insisted that he was involved in a visa procurement deal, not racketeering.
An audio recording of an informal conversation between publisher Jalingo and ASP Irene Ugbo didn’t state that it’s a visa racketeering deal but visa procurement.
