Residents of Calabar South LGA have been pouring accolades on His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade following the donation of medical equipments in Efut Akani Esuk Primary Health Centre and the inauguration of the Ward Health Development Committee (WHDC) Management Board to coordinate the health activities in the area aimed at especially ensuring the well-being of women and children, and the further actualization of Universal Health Coverage NegroidHaven has learnt.
Dr Inyang Asibong who conducted the inauguration on behalf of the State Government assured the community on the government’s readiness to support the board in the actualization of their set objectives. She said government will replicate the feat across the State.
While the HRH Muri Eyo Effiong Okon, V – clan head of Efut Akani Esuk and the WHDC chairman, who spoke on behalf of the community thanked the State Government for both the equipment and the official inauguration of the board, and also reinstated the commitment of the people to give total support to His Excellency as he sought to bring accessible and affordable health care delivery across board.
In other news the State Government joins the rest of the world in celebrating the world Physiothererapy week with a free Medical outreach and a sensitization walk. The Honorable Commissioner has called on Calabar residents to take advantage of this and partake in celebration.
Meanwhile the Diabetes Association of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter led by Dr Essien, a Consultant Endocrinologist over the week paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Honorable Commissioner as they look to collaborate with the State Government in enhancing diabetes management in State.
