A possible reason explaining why PDP Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State may not have attended the 11th August 2017 Non-elective Convention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which held at the Eagle Square of the nation's capital have evolved NegroidHaven has garnered.
Gov Ayade rather chose to visit Germany for whatever reason sending a delegation of the state including the Deputy Governor Prof Ivara Esu, appointees of his, elected office holders, etc in the reported attempt to avoid being barred out of the convention venue.
Feelers have it that there's a plan to punish Ayade for taking sides with disgraced disgraced Ali Modi Sherriff over the leadership tussle that plagued the party recently. This information is yet to be confirmed from appropriate quarters.
In Ayade's absence, the country's opposition country resolved as follows that:
*the National Caretaker Committee extends, by four months, the tenure of Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Caretaker Committee Chairman.
*its executive committees in 7 states of Adamawa, Borno, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun and Osun States stands dissolved.
*The National Convention in addition, mandated the Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee to set up caretaker Committees which in turn would conduct states and local government congresses in the 7 states by the party’s mandate.
*Finally, the PDP ratified the results of the Congresses which successfully held across the states of the federation between May and March in 2016.
Present at the occasion was former Governor Liyel Imoke, Governors Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, River state, Chief Nyesom Wike, Akwa Ibom, Emmanuel Udum, Taraba state, Arc. Darius Ishaku, Gombe state, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwanbo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Rear Admiral, John Jonah, Deputy Governor of Cross River state, Professor Ivara Esu, Deputy Governor of Ebonyi state, Dr. Eric Kelechi Igwe, National Vice Chairmen, State Chairmen, Party stalwarts and other leaders of the PDP nationwide.
