Let me just go straight to the point and clarify Mr Justus on the issue of the #IAmNotAgainstCultism statement credited to the Cross River State Commissioner for Youths and Sports.
When people address people in public, they do that putting in mind the impact of their message to the people who they address. It is near impossible for a man with such reputation to have come out to openly drum support for cultism.
Common sense should make us think in this direction, that for a youth commissioner knowing too well the dangers of openly declaring support for cultism will not do so even if he is a member because of the stigma attached to cultism.
Again, with the level of information and doggedness of our youth commissioner,  he is fully aware that such declaration will deprive him of his position as youth commissioner if taken up by law.
Another point of note is that, the said commissioner is in his early stage of politics and may have better aspirations in the near future coupled with the fact that as a political scientist he will want to protect his integrity, credibility and accountability will not make any comments in support of cultism.
Therefore, it is important to let you know that I was present at that event and that the youths commissioner have been misunderstood. I can clearly affirm that most of us know Hon. Asu Okang and at such, we have know doubt of his credibility, accountability and responsibility.
Now, Asu had said "I am not against cultism, what I am against is the Carrying of arms and other vices associated with it" he did not just stop at that, he proceeded to say "if we remove social vices from cultism it becomes like every social group one can reckon with" then, in my opinion he is not out of place.
When violence is removed from cultism and all the menace in it, then cultism becomes a gathering of like mines devout of crimes. Here cultism gives you an opportunity to make friends.
Philosophically speaking, it is clear even to the blind that one cannot be and at the same time be in the same respect. In other words, the youths commissioner cannot support cultism and at the same time be against cultism, hence, he has always advised youths to always desist from crime's and cultism an this issue should be laid to rest, Asu Okang is a good man.
