The essence of getting Primary Health Care Under One Roof and ensuring that each political ward in Cross River State has at least one health care facility is sacrosanct to providing both preventive and curative health care services to the people in an effective and affordable manner. It is on this basis, His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has earmark the commissioning of four primary health care centers in the next two month. This will support the Primary health care revitalization drive; taking health care closer to the people who needed it most!
This well reasoned government decision was made known by the Director General of Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu, during the commissioning of Mkpa Health Center in Nko, Yakurr Local Government Area of CRS. Dr. Edu said the drive and policies of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade towards health care delivery is very clear, maintaining that standard on the well being Cross Riverians can not be compromised.
She added that, the improved salary structure of primary health care workers in the state which include the addition of rural allowance, the availability of drugs/equipments in health facilities across the state as well as the lifting off of the embargo on employment is a right step in revitalizing the primary health care system in the state.
More so, the Director General use the opportunity to charge community leaders to be vigilant and take care of government investment in their communities, stressing that the act of vandalizing health care facilities during communal crisis is barbaric and will impair development in any given area, and advised that the Ayadesian theory do not support violence of any form. She called on NKO people and the Yakurr nation to keep faith with Sen. Ben Ayade because he has sincerity of purpose and will deliver on his promise.
Meanwhile, the people of Mkpa Nko who turned out in their numbers to grace the event, took out time to pour encomiums and appreciation for the commissioning professing that "TRULY AYADE CARES".
