As at yesterday, three corpses in Calabar, Cross River State capital city were found reportedly.
A young girl was killed and deposited close to Native Kitchen at Muritala Highway; a corpse was seen close to State Secretariat still along Muritala Highway; and the third is the shooting of Etta Nkim.
eye witness account says he was killed by kidnappers and not by officers of the Nigerian Police. Reportedly, the police only came to rescue him after they were notified at Tinapa. The police trailed the kidnappers up to Lemna and pursued the kidnappers shooting on the tires to deflect the tires. However, the kidnappers succeeded to escape.
According to one Joseph Odok, 'There are two accounts of the story. The first is that the police were working with the adopters and aided them in the killing of Etta Nkim, another said that the police came to rescue Etta Nkim after being briefed but couldn't help because it was late'.
It's perceived that the state is gradually becoming ungovernable and the state government is paying deaf ears and blind eyes. Hmmm!
