Reliable information reaching us suggest very strongly that the people of Izzi, in Izzi LGA of Ebonyi State are planning reprisal attacks against Ujama community of Ntrigom Clan in southern Ukelle in Yala LGA of Cross River State NegroidHaven can authoritatively inform.
Two weeks ago, some unidentified emissaries from Izzi community reportedly raided the farm of the clan head of Ntrigom in Ukelle South, Mr Stephen Odom, located in Ibollo, razing his entire plants and leaving a message that goes thus: 'Whatever you ate and remain…, we are coming back'.
The reprisal attack is in respect of a 12 years ago (since 2005) land ownership feud that transpired between the settler community of Izzi, domiciled in Izzi community in Ukelle south at the time, and Ntrigom Clan of Ukelle south where the people of Ujama community were instrumental in evicting them away from the residential settlement. The eviction pushed the enterprising Izzi people back into Izzi LGA Ebonyi LGA.
It should be noted that the Izzi community in Ntrigom Clan where these Ebonyi indigenes lived was a business hub, but, were summarily dismissed as a result of the crisis.
It should be noted here that the community has been on the alert since two weeks now, keeping security night watches in the community. There's no presence of security officers in the affected community.
I am calling on the State Governor, His Excellency Prof Ben Ayade to detail the State Security Adviser Mr Jude Ngaji to wade into the matter at this nascent stage of brewing crisis.
