The Honourable Commissioner for Education of Cross River State, Chief Goddy Ettah, as well as others have been implicated in a 20th June 2017 petition titled ‘Irregularities in the just concluded Recruitment Exercise and the General Administration of the Cross River State College of Education (COE), Akamkpa’ and addressed to His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, over the perceived lopsided recruitment exercise in state-owned College of Education, Akamkpa NegroidHaven can report.
Enyam Collins Agbor, Christian Egbong Tennessee, Ankwa Fanny Eji, Ogbaj Simon Ntammu and Odey Gabriel Awu, etc have petitioned the Governor against the activities of Commissioner Goddy Ettah, Chairman of Governing Council of COE Akamkpa Dr Steven Ada, Acting Provost Dr Patrick Obere Abiam, Registrar of COE, Mr Bernard Okon.
According to them the 8-points petition the recruitment process was ‘shrouded with abnormalities’, that a cabal comprising of the above-mentioned jettisoned the Interview Committee set up by the Governing Council for the purpose of recruitment, breeded imbalance, tribalistic, unwholesome, irregular, etc.
The petitioners who described Governor Ben Ayade as detribalised has enjoined the state boss ‘to do justice against all injustices’. They’ve prayed that His Excellency the Governor nullify the entire recruitment exercise, declare the Office of the Provost of COE, Akamkpa vacant and order that all part time lecturers of the college older than 6 years or thereabout be automatically employed with confirmatory letters issued to them.
