Some boys from my village Ogep Osokom have formed themselves into a militants group demanding that the Governor of Cross River State must come to Boki community himself to negotiate with the landlord communities of Borum palm estate. They promised to resist every government representative especially SA infrastructure Hon MacTommy Agan whom the governor had placed in charge of the estate.
In the process of agitations, there were some accidental discharge of bullets that affected two persons within their group with minor injuries. Those affected by bullets are: Abang Omaru and Dandy Etta. This group is united with the Oku community to build a fortified militant group against the government for past neglect especially as it concerns non payment of royalties to the period over more than ten years.
The group is united in stopping every activity of the government in the palm estate until the issue of royalties is incorporated in an MoU signed with clear terms Incorporation.
I will frown at the poor management of the Boki crisis by the government of Cross River State and his political appointees. Our people are getting endangered because of failure of the government of Cross River State.
Sure I am so disappointed in the action of the youths, so disappointed; irrational irritability is not the solution.
