The organisers, Teens Issues who held the programme in partnership with Poets In Nigeria said that it's aim was to 'encourage reading and writing activities in our young ones especially teenagers as a means of curbing juvenile delinquency and preparing them as proper representatives of our tomorrow leaders.'

It went further to observe that the programme, which held at The Box, was part of this year's (2017) Children's Day celebration, Democracy Day and celebrating Cross River State @ 50.
Twelve schools participated in the event from where 14 years old Miss Joyce Ewa of Hillcrest High School emerged winner carting home a N20, 000 cash prize.
Teens Issues sent her profound thanks to C. E. O.  Monchery Ana, House of Cherry – M I TV & Pamela Ofem, James Ene Henshaw Jnr., Mr Daniel Obo of Cross River Recreational Park, and the list continues.
